The number of Chinese Internet users has seen a profound growth of 20 percent to 123 million at the end of June, with broadband access soaring said China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC). The study found that two-third of the users is using broadband connection.
The annual survey on Internet users in China said that the number of Web sites in China rose by more than 110,000 to a total of 788,400. The study said that with the increase in the number of users so have the use of broadband Internet Connections, which grew by over 45.3 percent over the last year. At the end of June, 77 million [M] Internet users logged on with broadband Internet connections, CNNIC said.
China has invested heavily in broadband services and encourages the use of Internet for business and education.
China has the world’s second largest Internet population after the United States. However, only less than 10 percent of the county’s 1.2 billion population has access to Internet.
