Sterling Commerce Flushes India Ops with USD 10 Mln
Sterling Commerce, a collaboration software and services company and a subsidiary of AT&T Inc, is investing USD 10 million in India to expand its operations in the country. This announcement was made at the inauguration of a new 116,000 sq ft software development and delivery facility in Bangalore. "With the move into the new facilities in Bangalore, we are about to embark on an exciting new chapter at Sterling Commerce in India," said Sam Starr, President and CEO Sterling Commerce. "Our investment in The India operation is a critical part of our long-term global strategy. Sterling Commerce is in the throes of rapid and very profitable growth, both in our mainstream businesses and through well-executed acquisitions."
Sterling Commerce projects its Indian operations to grow from 82 professionals just over a year back to almost 500 by the end of 2006.

Nokia and SingTel Launch Mutliplayer Game Quest
Nokia and SingTel have launched the Nokia and SingTel Multiplayer Game Quest 2006. With Forum Nokia as its exclusive partner, SingTel is inviting all Forum Nokia PRO members to take up the challenge to create high quality cross-platform or multiplayer Java games. Up to 20 privileged finalists will have the opportunity to develop and offer their games for commercial distribution through SingTel Mobile, and potentially with Bridge Mobile Alliance to more than 80 million subscribers in Asia Pacific under the alliance's regional content sharing initiative.
The challenge invites developers to send in their proposals for the following categories: cross platform gaming (simultaneous gameplay between mobile devices and fixed devices), multiplayer gaming for the male segment, and also for the female segment. The games should run on Nokia's Java-enabled mobile devices.
