Wireless technology supplier Qualcomm Inc. has upgraded its uiOne Software Development Kit (SDK), a user user interface development kit, for developers and content provider. The software development kit is provided to mobile developers to create user interfaces for BREW-based devices, and enables developers to do that development and test those applications on a PC.
BREW is Qualcomm's development environment for cell phone applications.
Mitch Oliver, vice president of solutions and marketing for Qualcomm Internet Services said, "The availability of the uiOne SDK for mobile publishers and developers, as well as the creative community of graphic designers is the ideal next step in the progression of custom UIs. We expect the release of uiOne SDK version 1.2 to be a catalyst for the innovation and to greatly raise the level of demand for custom UIs."
Developers can use the source samples as starting points to develop their own UIs. The uiOne SDK version 1.2 will be available initially for authenticated BREW developers to download from the BREW Extranet.
