Lucent Technologies has appointed Vivek Mohan as CEO and President of Lucent India. In his position Mohan will focus on expanding the IT major's presence in the Indian market. Mohan reports to Lucent Asia Pacific President Bart Vogel.
"India is an important and exciting market for Lucent," Vogel said, adding, "India is striving to improve the lives of its citizens by making advanced communications services more widely available."
Previously, Mohan was a senior leader with Lucent's Supply Chain Network organisation, based in Shanghai.
Prior to Lucent, Mohan had spent nine years doing business in India and is the founder and leader of two entrepreneurial enterprises based in India and US, followed by a consulting position with Nortel Networks. In these roles, he had held a number of sales and marketing positions.
