NTUC Income Adopts Altiris Client Management Suite
Altiris Inc., a service-oriented management software company, has announced that NTUC Income, Singapore's life, general and health insurer, has deployed Altiris Client Management Suite, to centrally manage its IT assets. IT administrators can now deploy, manage and troubleshoot systems located in 12 locations across Singapore from virtually anywhere.
James Kang, NTUC Income CIO, said, "With more than 2,100 insurance advisors and 1,600 office staff at NTUC Income, we have a myriad of devices to manage, from desktops to tablet PCs and handhelds. This is very challenging and time-consuming. Considering today's IT threat landscape, we must ensure that security updates are rapidly delivered to all our systems. Our agents often require immediate access to information, and we cannot afford any downtime. In addition, software upgrades need to be packaged and delivered at a specific time to minimize impact on network bandwidth."
Client Management Suite actively tracks and manages assets from a central console so that the IT staff at NTUC Income can easily assess security vulnerabilities, prepare for software audits and more accurately determine hardware and software needs and availability. Altiris solutions help streamline and automate the company's IT processes while increasing service levels to the insurance agents and other business units.
Geoff Masters, Altiris managing director for Asia Pacific and Japan, said, "Altiris service-oriented management empowers CIOs to reduce IT support costs, secure systems, improve software management and focus on higher-level business objectives. NTUC Income's proactive approach to streamline IT processes through automation allows the company to deliver top notch-service to its business units. Altiris solutions deliver ease of manageability and remote control functionality to NTUC Income's dispersed network infrastructure."
