Graphics chip maker Nvidia Corp. has reported higher first quarter earnings of USD 90.7 million, or 23 cents per share, compared with USD 64.4 million, or 18 cents per share in the year-ago quarter. Excluding one-time items, Nvidia earned USD 111.1 million, or 29 cents a share, compared with Wall Street view of USD 87.4 million, or 23 cents a share, according to Reuters Estimates.
Revenue for the quarter rose 17 percent to USD 681.8 million from USD 583.9 million a year earlier, topping the average forecast of USD 660.8 million.
The company expects sales for the second quarter to be roughly the same as the first quarter. Nvidia said it sees sees a slight drop in revenue between the first and second quarters.
