Aircel Ties Up with Roamware to Enhance Roaming Services
Aircel has tied-up with Roamware, a global provider of value-added voice and data roaming solutions, to implement the latter’s short codes and smart call assistant to enhance its network and service.
A company statement said that the partnership would offer an enhanced mobile experience and a greater level of connectivity to visiting roaming customers into the Aircel networks in the Indian subcontinent.
With the implementation of Roamware's solutions, international visitors to the Aircel network would now be able to enjoy a reliable virtual home environment experience, it added.
Roamware short codes enable inbound roaming subscribers to continue using abbreviated codes assigned by their carrier, to access their local services such as voicemail, directory service, customer care and convenience services such as taxi and hotels, among others.
Smart call assistant allows roamers to use the numbers in their phonebook as they would be at home, by automatically adding the international access codes, if missing.
"We have chosen a suite of solutions from Roamware that will support our continued growth, by offering the best and most flexible seamless service enhancements. The technology will provide enhanced convenience for visiting roaming customers using the Aircel networks in the region," K V P Baskar, chief executive officer of Aircel Cellular, said.
