India’s software services exporter, Wipro Ltd. has announced that it has appointed William Arthur (Bill) Owens, who was till recently chairman and chief executive officer of Nortel Networks, as an additional director with effect from July 1.
Owens is currently on the boards of Polycom Inc., Daimler Chrysler AG, Sprint Wireline, and AEA Investors LLC, an investment company. From April 2004 to November 2005, Owens served as CEO and vice-chairman of the board of Nortel Networks. He was also an Admiral in the US Navy and V-C of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
