Software and services company Autodesk on Wednesday launched its first Center of Excellence (CoE) in Mumbai with focus on architecture design, and is planning another in Delhi. "With India fast emerging as design outsourcing hub, there is a need to equip the country's current generation of architects on 3D concepts... The centre of excellence is in line with company's vision to empower India's enormous talent pool," Autodesk India Regional Head Rajiv Nair said.
The Center is part of company's education initiative, which is aimed at equipping India's new generation architects with world-class design capabilities, he said.
The centre, built within the campus of Sir JJ College of Architecture at Mumbai, would serve both students and faculty for learning 3D model-based design software besides acting as a hub for various seminars, a release from the company said.
Autodesk is also planning to extend its partnership with institutes and universities across India by exploring possibilities of more such centres in the areas of Industrial design, construction management, animation and special effects, it added.
