Wipro Infotech Wins US Dollar 80 Million HDFC Bank Deal
Wipro Infotech, a unit of Wipro Limited and a provider of IT solutions and services, announced its largest IT outsourcing deal in India. Wipro has secured a contract for providing IT outsourcing services to HDFC Bank. The contract is valued at approximately Rs. 360 crores (USD 80 million) over a period of 10 years.
As part of the deal, Wipro Infotech is to provide IT infrastructure on build-own-operate basis for existing and new branches of HDFC Bank. It will provide infrastructure management services for data center, networks, and end user equipments.
"We expect to achieve faster time to market in expanding our network across the country and optimizing our IT costs," said HDFC Bank's IT Head, C.N.Ram.
"Our Total Outsourcing practice enables the bank to leverage on global best practices for Service delivery & technology deployment," said Suresh Vaswani, President, Global IT Service Lines & Wipro Infotech.
"We launched our Total Outsourcing business 18 months ago, and this is our fifth consecutive win," added Anand Sankaran, Vice President, Global IT Outsourcing.
