Reliance Infocomm has launched an international roaming service - 1World 1Number which permits roaming with a single number on both CDMA and GSM networks. The service is functional over 11 CDMA and 340 GSM networks across the world.
According to a company release, Reliance customers can retain their numbers while roaming on GSM networks. Based on an inter-standard roaming mode, this service takes away the hassles of call-forwarding while travelling from a CDMA network to GSM network and vice-versa.
Reliance customers can subscribe to the service at Reliance WebWorlds. They will get a SIM card to be used with a suitable GSM handset. With this SIM card, they can use roaming services on GSM networks without changing their number.
The customer can use their existing CDMA handsets for roaming on CDMA networks, it said.
