Sun's New Array of Market-driven Suites

Sun has broadened its industry-changing Sun Java Enterprise System (Java ES) software strategy by announcing a new array of market-driven suites. The initial set of Sun Java System Suites provides high-impact customer solutions that are easier to buy and implement for identity management, application platform services, system availability and enterprise communications. Sun also introduced the Sun Java System Web Infrastructure Suite, a secure, affordable and easy-to-deploy Web services platform designed especially for the mid-market and enterprise departmental workgroups. The new suite is optimised for Sun's AMD Opteron processor-based servers and will be central to upcoming mid-market initiatives for Sun.

The new Sun Java System Suites are designed to allow customers to quickly and easily deploy the optimal set of Java ES technologies for a low cost of USD 50 per employee, per year. Each suite includes Sun's full portfolio of development tools to enable customers to easily adapt systems and applications that create repeatable business solutions. The first set of suites available immediately are Sun Java Application Platform Suite, Sun Java Availability Suite, Sun Java Communications Suite, Sun Java Identity Management Suite, and Sun Java Web Infrastructure Suite.
