Microsoft's Giant "Titan" Rollout |

In a few hours from now, Microsoft will provide Windows customers with Malicious Software Removal Tools. New versions of these tools will be available monthly (second Tuesday of every month on the same schedule that Microsoft already delivers other security updates) or more frequently if necessary. The "around-the-bend" virus removal tool, codenamed Titan, will be released on Patch Tuesday (today). The name Titan is, in some ways, an acknowledgement of the technology that Microsoft acquired recently from Anti-virus company Giant Software. Titan is pre-programmed to zap 10 of the most virulent worms and viruses, including Blaster, Sasser, MyDoom and Nachi. There's a sneak peek of the Microsoft anti-virus tool, Titan, according to Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Steven Bink. |
