Microsoft has unveiled a swanky new MSN Toolbar Suite with a long-awaited desktop search functionality that will search your desktop from within popular applications (document, media file or e-mail message) on your Windows-based personal computer.
The integrated suite of tools combines the ease of a Web search with the richness and power of the PC environment. Think about searching the thousands of files on your PC, including Outlook Contacts or Calendar files, Adobe PDFs files, or Microsoft Office Word or PowerPoint files, this new search functionality lets you do it in a breeze. The MSN toolbars are designed to work with Outlook, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer and the Windows desktop. The MSN Toolbars also provide you with quick access to MSN Messenger, MSN Hotmail and the new blogging tool, MSN Spaces, enabling you to initiate common communication tasks right from the bar, including e-mail, instant messaging and inserting URLs into Spaces blogs.
The MSN Toolbar Suite displays Web search results from the recently launched MSN Search Beta release, a new algorithmic search engine built by Microsoft, which will find precisely the information you are looking for, by providing more useful answers to questions and more control over your search experience. The MSN Toolbar Suite beta is available now in English in the United States, with global availability planned for next year. |
