Microsoft Brings Visual Basic .Net to India

Microsoft India Corporation has commenced a five-city Visual Basic .NET tour in India as a part of its Visual Basic .NET World Tour. The Visual Basic .NET World Tour is aimed at familiarizing developers and students with the advanced concepts for building applications that takes full advantage of their existing Visual Basic .NET skills. At the tour, Microsoft is previewing its upcoming Visual Basic .NET 2005, which is the next version of Visual Basic .NET. In addition, Microsoft is introducing Visual Basic .NET 2003 Power Pack - a set of controls released by Microsoft earlier this year, that provide enhanced user interface elements and enable developers to create more interesting client based applications. The tour recently commenced in Bangalore and is going on to Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and New Delhi. The Visual Basic .NET World Tour is visiting more than 30 cities worldwide in United States, Europe and Asia.

The Indian tour is being addressed by Steven Lees (Group Program Manager, Visual Basic) and Mr. Alan Griver (Group Manager, Visual Studio Data Group). During the Visual Basic .NET 2005 preview, the Microsoft team will be demonstrating a number of the advances that make it easier and more productive than ever for developers to build Windows, Web and Mobile applications. Visual Basic .NET 2005 is a part of Visual Studio 2005, which will ship a Beta release in the early part of 2005 and is scheduled to release later during the year.
