Sun Appoints New SVP of AP

Sun Microsystems has appointed a new senior vice president to lead its Asia Pacific (AP) operations.

Lionel Lim, who has been promoted from his previous role as chief of operations for the AP region and president of Sun’s Asia South region and Japan, will be succeeding Denis Heraud, who recently took on the leadership of the newly formed Emerging Markets region.

Lionel will be based in Singapore and be responsible for the Sales and Services Organization across AP comprising the Asia South region (14 countries), Australia and New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.

"Lionel's 20 years with Sun brings both a wealth of IT experience and a strong understanding of our customers and partners business and technology needs," said Peter Ryan, executive vice president, Global Sales and Services, Sun Microsystems.

"I am confident that with his proven track record and exceptional team, Lionel will continue to grow the Asia Pacific region."
