Juniper Networks announced its recognition by a leading analyst firm as one of the world's ten largest IT security software vendors, as measured by global revenue (CY2006). In its new report, IDC company, notes Juniper's broad family of certified network security solutions for enterprises, service providers, and government entities.
IDC estimates that the worldwide IT security software market in 2006 was USD18.7 billion, of which the government portion was nearly USD1.8 billion, making it the third-largest market vertical after banking and discrete manufacturing.
In a related study, the analyst group also included Juniper in an overview of the top 20 "IPv6 Influencers" working with the U.S. government. This study also cites Juniper among a smaller subset of the top 20 IPv6 influencers that are rising to the top in both security and the move to IPv6.
"Juniper's government-specific security offerings and their IPv6 ready out of the box solutions, along with their continued focus on the U.S. federal government, help meet the expanding requirements of the government communications infrastructure," said Mark Kagan, research manager at Government Insights.
As the report notes, Juniper solutions use the Internet as the alternative network backbone to enable network redundancy, so operations can continue even during catastrophic emergencies. |
