F-Secure & CSL Launch 1st Mobile Security Service |

Hong Kong mobile operator CSL has partnered with F-Secure to offer customers security solutions on their mobile devices.
Claiming to be the “first mobile operator in Greater China” to provide such a service, CSL also said under the agreement, it will be providing fully integrated on-device protection and automatic over-the-air security updates to its customers under the 1O1O and One2Free brands. "CSL’s F-Secure Mobile Security Service will set a new standard for the mobile industry in Asia and change how mobile security software is delivered…By using an innovative update system via the mobile network, CSL and F-Secure can now offer a simple and effective solution to enhance the mobile Internet user experience and enjoy a safe online trading environment," said Jari Heinonen, Vice President for F-Secure Asia-Pacific.
The F-Secure Mobile Security service will allow mobile users to experience the full potential of their devices while being protected. It comes with a set of security features to protect against mobile viruses, spyware and other unwanted attacks which can transfer through mobile networks, Bluetooth, infected memory cards or PC by data synchronization.

“Our partnership with F-Secure enables us to provide our customers with a cost-effective, hassle-free and proactive security solution to protect their devices from unwanted attacks, particularly when customers increasingly use their mobile devices for data applications and connecting to the Internet.” CSL’s F-Secure Mobile Security Service will be available to all 1O1O and One2Free customers through a free trial period from April 8, 2008. The service, which combines an integrated antivirus and firewall, will be pre-installed in Symbian Series 60 second and third edition smartphones, Windows 6 Professional PDA and Sony Ericsson UIQ devices. Users can also download it directly over the air to their phone and enjoy immediate protection against mobile malware. The CSL F-Secure Mobile Security service is available for a monthly subscription fee which will be reflected on CSL subscribers’ phone bill after completion of the trial period. |
