Adobe Systems said last week that it has shipped more than 500 million mobile devices loaded with Adobe Flash Lite software to date.
Flash Lite is Adobe’s Flash Player runtime specifically designed for mobile devices and is today being delivered on a range of mobile phones and devices including LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
According to Adobe, Flash Lite has seen over 150 % growth over the last year.
Parallel with this announcement, Adobe also announced that Microsoft is now the latest company to license Flash Lite, for use in Microsoft Windows Mobile phones.
“With over half a billion devices now running Flash Lite we’re extending the reach of high impact web experiences to our connected mobile world,” said Alan Ramadan, senior vice president, Mobile and Devices at Adobe.
“With Microsoft, the latest addition to our list of mobile partners, Flash technology’s footprint continues to expand, promising more opportunities for Flash developers and more great content for mobile consumers around the world.” |
