Certification on Telecomunication Tools is Under Revision

 

 

Directorate General Posts and Telecommunications in Indonesia decline the issue that revision of rules about certification in telecommunication tools was used to top up the government revenue. Regarding this rules, all of operators vendors in Indonesia have not give their clear statement yet.

Gatot Dewa Broto, Chief of General Affairs and Public Relations Directorate General Post and Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology said that rules about telecommunication tools will be finalized soon with the agreement from stakeholder point of view.

On the other hand, Dewa Broto also decline the issue about disguised purpose of this rules. "If we compare between the cost of certification and test of telecommunication tools with the tools that delivered to the society, the cost was not balanced," Dewa Broto said.

Currently, the finalization of this rules is still under develop. Ministry of Communication and Technology still try to accommodate all of interest from many sides.

Regarding the rules about telecommunication tools, Directorate General Posts and Telecommunications is planning to increase the certification tariff. Dewa Broto adds, if this tariff increase, stakeholders can give their consideration. He declares eventhough the price of certification increases, the society must be free from any kind of tax. The taxes will be delivered to telecommunication vendor because their revenue is increase from year to year.
