BenQ-Siemens Launch EF51 Mobile Phone

Almost a year after shutting down the Siemens’ mobile phone business that it acquired one year earlier, BenQSiemens has launched BenQ-Siemens EF51 Mobile Phone.

The phone is a pretty old model that BenQ-Siemens had launched in Europe in early 2006. Touted to be a “next generation hybrid music phone,” the EF51 caters to mobile phone users who want music anywhere and everywhere.

Ish Bawa, Marcom Head, BenQ India, said, “Even though mobile phones are fast transforming into music devices, the sound quality still leaves a lot to be desired. The music player in the EF51 has the functionality and sound quality equivalent to that of any stand-alone music device. Therefore, we see a lot of potential for The EF51 in the music phone segment.”

The BenQ-Siemens EF51 has dedicated MP3 controller keys located on its shiny EZmusic. Users can play any kind of music and download any format they want since the phone is compatible with practically all mainstream audio formats, including WMA, MP3, AAC and AAC+. Further on, you can also transfer Windows Media Player songs from your PC to your phone directly and download music from online music stores all over the world.

What’s more, its 20 pre-set FM station function is another attractive feature that allows you store all your favourite FM stations. In addition, the EF51 lets you ‘record’ songs playing on the radio too.

The other important features of BenQ-Siemens EF51 mobile phone are:
1. 20 MB built-in memory with a MiniSD card slot for memory expandability
2. 1.3 MP camera, with features like special color adjustments, digital zoom, multi-shot, self-portrait and more to add drama to real life
3. Bluetooth connectivity
4. A2DP Bluetooth stereo headset (complimentary)

Two months ago, the ailing Taiwan based BenQ reorganised itself and its former main business of mobilephones took a backseat.
