Cisco Systems has announced that it is buying Latigent, a maker of call centre reporting software to strengthen its own software business.
This is the fifth acquisition that Cisco has done this year. Its first was in February when it acquired Reactivity for USD 135 million and Five Across for an undisclosed sum. One month later the company acquired WebEx for USD 2.9 billion and Utah Street Networks for an undisclosed amount. In April, it invested in Russian startup Ozon, and in May it bought BroadWare Technologies, both for undisclosed amounts.
Financial terms of the Latigent deal were not disclosed.
Latigent makes software that converts call centre data into reports so that executives and other staff can improve customer service or get insights from customer behaviour.
Latigent’s software specialises in extracting data from Cisco and Avaya communications products. Cisco executives said the company plans to integrate Latigent's products into its own customer contact technology and eventually have those products communicate with customer relationship management applications. |
