BusinessObjects Is For Sale

BusinessObjects, the Paris based maker of business software is up for sale and has asked a investment bank to find a suitor for it.

According to a French newspaper Le Figaro, five potential buyers have expressed an interest in the group, including Germany's SAP which is currently the favoured candidate.

The paper further said that both SAP and BusinessObjects will start talks in a few days and an agreement should be reached very soon. The paper said a bid for Business Objects by a larger group would accelerate its growth amid consolidation in the sector.

The company is valued at 3 billion euros.
