Orange Business Appoints India CEO

Orange Business Services, the business communications arm of the France Telecom group, has appointed Sanjay Vig as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its operations in India.

Vig’s appointment comes hot in the heels of the completion of Orange Business Services’ recent acquisition of the enterprise and managed services unit of GTL, one of India’s leading ICT firms.

As CEO, Sanjay will be responsible for integrating and managing the combined Orange Business Services' teams in order to strengthen Orange Business Services ICT capabilities, enabling it to meet the needs of Indian and multinational corporations (MNCs) for network related services in India and the region.

Sanjay Vig comes to Orange with more than 17 years experience in the IT services sector in India and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Orange Business Services, Sanjay held various leadership positions with Hewlett Packard in Singapore including portfolios in Technology Services, Business Development and Network Services.

The newly appointed CEO of Orange Business Services, India, Sanjay Vig, said: "I am looking forward to realizing the potential of the combined Orange team and to growing our share of the enterprise communications business. With the completion of this acquisition, France Telecom will increase its presence in India to over 1,590 direct employees while retaining the human capital of the acquired entity. The company will also serve directly over 450 customers that were earlier managed by GTL.
