Meru Networks, a provider of wireless infrastructure, has teamed with Network-Access Control (NAC) vendors to help customers leverage existing investments in network-access control while deploying Meru’s Wireless Local-Area Network (WLAN) System. Meru is working closely with a wide range of partners, including Microsoft, Juniper Networks, Vernier Networks and Lockdown Networks, among others, the company said.
“It’s important for enterprises to understand that they do not have to do a complete overhaul of their network infrastructure when they install wireless LAN solutions,” said Mike Schutz, group product manager of Security and Access Products at Microsoft. “Our Network Access Protection customers will benefit from increased security and WLAN performance.” Network Access Protection is a policy enforcement technology built into the Windows Vista and Windows Server (code-named “Longhorn”) operating systems that allows customers to better protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with network health policies, the company stated.
This initiative is integral to Meru’s commitment to open systems and standards, and in providing its customers with flexibility in deploying advanced WLAN solutions, the company added.
