The International PHP Magazine conducted a poll over the week, asking for your opinion about the best tip for creating a Web application in PHP. The options provided were:
- Use multi result set queries to your database
- Page/object caching
- gzip compression
- Tune your web server
- Don’t save performance testing for the end of the project
The option ‘Page/object caching’ has gained a majority of 35.3% votes. The option ‘Don’t save performance testing for the end of project’ has comes second with 25.5 % votes. The third place goes to the option ‘gzip compression’ with a vote count of 5.9%. The option, ‘Tune your web server’ failed to garner any votes and stood last with a dismal vote count of 0.0%.
