SiteScape, a provider of secure web-based workflow and collaboration solutions, has made known that Waltham, MA-based Novell, has signed an agreement to distribute SiteScape's next generation of collaboration software. The new software will round out Novell's offerings in the workgroup productivity market, through team workspace and real-time conferencing solutions, SiteScape said in a statement.
"This new software will provide strong collaboration capabilities to the many customers who have already deployed proven Novell workgroup services on Linux," said Kent Erickson, Vice President and General Manager of Novell Workgroup Solutions. "We did a thorough analysis of the collaboration vendors in the market and concluded that SiteScape had the most innovative technology in this space. These products will be a valuable complement to the Novell Open Workgroup Suite, delivering a more complete, open and cost-effective workgroup productivity solution from desktop to server."
The new SiteScape software, which will be available in mid-2007, will include real-time meeting capabilities as well as team workspace collaboration tools such as blogs and wikis, SiteScape said.
Recently, SiteScape announced Version 8.0 of Forum, its unified collaboration platform that allows team members to work in real-time and asynchronously. Forum Version 8 adds blogs, wikis, support for voice-over-IP, and powerful additions to its workflow engine, SiteScape added.
