GetMobio Offers 50 Mobile applications based on mash-ups of Web Services

Mobio, a maker of mobile lifestyle applications has announced GetMobio, a mobile lifestyle portal that offers consumers over 50 applications and widgets based on mash-ups of web services.

According to Ramneek Bhasin, CEO of Mobio, nobody has addressed the glaring issue of providing compelling content and applications for mobile lifestyles. "Point solutions do exist, but at Mobio we are taking a holistic approach to delivering a wide range of lifestyle-specific mobile applications and making them fun, simple and useful. We have mashed up all kinds of localised content from the web and personalised it for all your needs. This is because you require different kinds of information on Tuesday morning than you do on Saturday night. From here, the possibilities are limitless," said Bhasin.

Mobio has joined Web Services like Kaboodle and OpenTable to develop applications like Mobile Flight Times, Mobile Movie Times and Mobile Fine Dining.

GetMobio's Promises

GetMobio is a free service that allows people to use their mobile phones to locate nightclubs, call a cab, find alternative flights or reserve tables at restaurants. It can be downloaded once into mobile phones and new applications are delivered automatically as they become available. Users can personalise their experience across all GetMobio collections. The applications are designed to be used in very few clicks, with no or minimal data entry and are created for the most popular and widely available mobile phones on the market.

GetMobio offers ten collections with over fifty applications, widgets and content feeds. A few of them are After Midnight, Stepping Out, Chilling Out, Panic Kit and others.

Responses to GetMobio

The application has attracted user interest and user approval too. Users have commented that GetMobio delivers on its promises, the navigation system is fairly simple and once customised, everything is a click or two away. However there are reports that the GetMobio’s map locations are not entirely accurate. This may not be a problem if the user is in his hometown, but for a travelling user, can create difficulties.
