Alfresco Software, a provider of open source enterprise content management solutions has announced the availability of Alfresco encryption plug-in. The plug-in, developed by IDEALXthe publisher of OpenTrust, the Open Source Trust and Security Suite—encrypts and decrypts content in a secure collaborative workplace.
The plug-in, based on Alfresco v1.3, is fully integrated into Alfresco and is natively based on the Alfresco rules action. By applying the cypher rule to a specific workspace (and after setting the associated passphrase) this plug-in enables a document to be encrypted in PKCS#5 format prior to upload. While downloading an encrypted document, the user can decrypt it, by entering the correct key in a pre-created private workspace. The encrypted document will remain in the original workspace until the user has decrypted the document in his private workspace. The plug-in, called IDX-eDoc is published under the Mozilla Public License 1.1. |
