Zend has unveiled the Zend Core for IBM. The product has been upgraded to include tighter database integration and support for high-volume traffic on low-cost hardware, says the company .
Zend Core for IBM delivers tested and supported environment that enables developers to get up and running using PHP supported by Zend on IBM infrastructure. Zend provides support for Zend Core for IBM via the Zend Network, a service and support system that delivers updates and support to PHP developers, the company stated.
According to Zend, Zend Core for IBM V1.5 includes enhancements for the development of web applications:
- A free, integrated DB2 Express 9 data server
- All new support for Informix Dynamic Server
- pureXMLTM support delivers capabilities for managing XML data
- An optional connection pooling feature allows sharing of server resources among requesting clients
