Yahoo! Launches Messenger 8.0 in Hindi, Tamil |

Yahoo! India has launched Indichat plug-in, which enables users to chat in Hindi and Tamil without a language keyboard. The user can load the Side Panel plug-in and start chatting in Hindi and Tamil, the company said. Yahoo! India also offers other plug-ins, which facilitate chat in other Indian languages like Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Malayalam. Also, a user with any language keyboard can chat on Yahoo! Messenger 8.0 in that language, Yahoo said.
The plug-in feature is said to change user experience on Yahoo! Messenger 8.0 by enabling music, finance, games, answers and many more features in their messenger window.
Another feature from Yahoo! India is the introduction of Indian language Audibles that are available in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati and Punjabi. Yahoo! India also announced the launch of Yahoo! Mail beta for India, the next generation Web 2.0 mail product from Yahoo!
The features of Yahoo! Indichat include:
- Messages can be sent across messenger versions
- Users can send Instant Messages to their Windows Live contacts in the Yahoo! messenger buddy list through the Interoperability feature
- Uusers can search for content in Hindi/Tamil on Yahoo! India Search
Users can download Indichat plug-in for Hindi and Tamil from here into their Yahoo! Messenger 8.0.
