Ektron, a provider of web contents management software, and SitePoint, a provider of content and resources for web professionals, has revealed the results and analysis of a survey of professional web developers.
“The intent of the State of Web Development survey was to poll the people who actually build the Web to discover the technologies and practices being used,” said David Aponovich, director of marketing at Ektron and a co-author of the report. “When we dug deeper into the responses, we correlated the answers to combinations of questions and revealed ‘hidden’ relationships. We found fresh insights about the way the web development community is thinking. There are some definite trends in the way people work, the technologies they use and the way they obtain information.”
By tapping into the experience of 5,000 web developers, 'The State of Web Development 2006/2007' report charts progress in the world of the Web, provides insight into current realities and uncovers new trends within the developer community, including:
