Browser Attacks, Wireless Threats Top Symantec’s Threat Report |

Symantec Corporation will be releasing the latest results of their Internet Security Threat Reports (ISTR)on Thursday 28th September 2006. Volume X of the ISTR provides an overview of threat activities that took place between January 1 and June 30, 2006, as well as emerging trends and issues that Symantec believes will become prominent over the next six to 24 months.
Some key findings from the report include:
- Top web browser attacks
- Top wireless threats
- Denial of service attacks; top countries and sectors targeted
- Bot networks; bot-infected computers by country and city
- Top originating countries; top targeted sectors
- Spam statistics for the Asia Pacific region, what percentage of Spam it accounted for worldwide; percentage of Spam containing malicious code
- Previously unseen malicious code threats
- Web 2.0 security threats and AJAX attacks
