Microsoft Zune Is a Lifetime Oppurtunity for Lesser Known Artists

Microsoft Zune offers an excellent opportunity for budding, new, and lesser-known artists to get their music out a larger community of listeners by pre-loading content on the player. Microsoft Zune and Sub Pop records have been working to put music from Sub Pop artists on the player as pre-loaded content. Tony Kiewel, Head of A&R Sub Pop Records has this to say on zune and Sub Pop records' relationship, "[...] so bands such as Band of Horses' will suddenly be afforded the opportunity to be discovered by millions of people who might not have never heard about them. and that is just an amazing chance that does not come around all that often."

Zune also brings with it, the ability to swap a song from one player to another. Says Tony, "[...]for people to get excited about music and not just tell your friends about it, but also share it with them, is awesome."

Speaking on the how Zune is contributing to the portable music world, Tony says that the most amazing part of what zune is doing to the portable music player phenomenon is allowing people to actually still be engaged and social while still enjoying their music in their personal setting. "...this whole capacity for sharing and investigating other peoples playlist is a huge step forward and I think it changes the entire phenomenon completely".
