Satyam and SMS Demag have rolled out three SAP R/3 modules, Finance and Controlling (FICO), Materials Management (MM), and Project Systems (PS). Satyam consultants have developed user-specific programs that enable SMS Demag to file statutory returns like sales tax/service tax/income tax returns in a timely manner as well.
The Materials Management module integrates purchase-related activities with project and finance functions, leading to timely equipment supplies. This capability is critical for a project-based company like SMS Demag, which offers turnkey solutions. The Project Systems module will help SMS Demag users 'talk to' their applications more easily, an important productivity enhancement. Application prototyping is facilitated, too. Other benefits include an enhanced help function; online training; simplified design and modification of display panels; and considerably less expensive operation.
