Network Appliance has announced the results of a study from VeriTest, the testing service of Lionbridge, which found that software from the vendor for e-mail archival environments running on NetApp storage delivers customers up to twice the performance of EMC Centera Gen4 storage. NetApp also challenged the industry with an enterprise-wide, unified approach for solving archive and compliance needs.
The VeriTest study compared the performance of the NetApp FAS3050 and NearStore R200 storage systems to that of EMC Centera Gen4 storage. The results are further proof that NetApp storage provides customers with cost-effective solution for e-mail archival and various compliance needs.
The combined NetApp and e-mail archival software solution is used by customers including Inmarsat and UZ Leuven, one of the centers for healthcare in Belgium.
“The findings in the VeriTest report demonstrate that NetApp storage provides enterprise customers with higher performing storage solutions for archive data than other large vendors in the market today,” said Patrick Rogers, vice president of Products and Alliances at Network Appliance.
