SMC Networks Gains Momentum in Singapore with Convergent Systems

SMC Networks a provider of LAN hardware, broadband connectivity devices and SOHO/Home wireless products, has announced the appointment of its new distributor, Convergent Systems (S) Pte Ltd. This new appointment is a result of the expected growth of the Singapore market for SMC products, therein strengthening its channel presence and distribution.

According to IDC report for WLAN in the Enterprise, the potential for WLAN in the corporate environment is being tapped increasingly as businesses are attracted to its convenience and ease of use, ease of network management, its positive effect on enhancing business processes, as well as being compelled by the rising need for mobility. Additionally, service providers and equipment vendors are also aggressively addressing market acceptance, security concerns, and corporate functionality requirements.
