Emerson Implements Tundra Semiconductor Tsi568A in New MicroTCA Designs
Emerson’s new Embedded Computing business, formerly Artesyn Communication Products, has implemented Tundra’s Tsi568A Serial RapidIO Switch into the Fat Pipe switch module in its new 12-slot MicroTCA development system, and is working with Tundra on a series of additional Serial RapidIO designs.
“Serial RapidIO is one of the technologies most desired for key MicroTCA applications like gateways and wireless base stations, and Tundra enabled us to provide this functionality in our newest development system,” said Todd Wynia, vice president of product management for Emerson’s new Embedded Computing business. “AdvancedTCA, AdvancedMC, and MicroTCA are quickly becoming the open architecture platforms of choice among network equipment providers, and Tundra provides a stable, scalable and high-performance interconnect solution that helps speed our time-to-market.”
