Microsoft Corporate Challenge Kick Starts in Kochi
Thirty-five corporate teams from across India gathered for the start of the Microsoft Corporate Challenge 2006, at Kochi. The Challenge, which has been conceptualised, managed and produced by Sports Media Limited and DNA Networks, is the first and the largest of its kind in India.
“We already have a 100% increase in the number of participating companies from last year. Teams from the IT, Banking, Advertising, Financial Services, Telecom, Media, FMCG and Manufacturing Industries from across the country are gearing up to wrest the mantle from the defending champions, ICICI Bank”, said Prem Bhatia, Managing Director, Sports Media Limited.
The five stage Microsoft Corporate Challenge will be held at F.A.C.T. (Fertilizers And Chemicals Travancore) and the adjoining backwaters. Participants can expect the Challenge to be filled with a series of mental and physical activities, including running, rowing, cycling, cracking codes, problem solving, light engineering etc, to test their fitness levels and strategic skills.
“This year, each team will consist of seven members out of which at least two have to be women members and one has to be a part of the senior management of the organisation. As the Challenge shifts to the backwaters of Kerala, the action promises to be even more exciting than last year”, said Venkat Vardhan, Managing Director, DNA Networks.
The first edition of the Microsoft Corporate Challenge was held in Goa in 2005 and ICICI Bank emerged winners followed by JM Morgan Stanley coming in second.
