ANYTIME has announced that Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of Intel Corporation, has invested in a privately owned Singapore-based entertainment company. The investment will accelerate the availability of on-Demand entertainment to homes via the Internet in Asia Pacific. Intel Capital joins Fox, Sony, and Warner Bros among investors of ANYTIME.
ANYTIME TV is set to jumpstart Video on-Demand (VoD) entertainment in selected markets in Asia Pacific. President and CEO of ANYTIME Craig Zimbulis commented, "The immediacy, global reach and on-Demand nature of the Internet, together with the high penetration rate of broadband-ready PCs in homes in the region, support a new trend in how people get their entertainment. Today’s announcement positions ANYTIME to meet the rapidly expanding needs of consumers in Asia for rich media content using the Internet."
