CRM is the Fastest-Growing Enterprise Application Segment

AMR Research has released two reports stating that the Human Capital Management (HCM) market ties with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as the fastest-growing enterprise application segment, with 10 percent growth rates in 2006. The report says Oracle is the top ranked vendor in HCM based on 2005 revenues, while SAP leads all other vendors in the CRM segment.

Hosted revenue, primarily from Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), acted as the catalyst for the industry with 60% growth in 2005. Salesforce.com, moved from No. 12 in 2004 to No. 6 in 2005 and is expected to grow 52% in 2006.

"Customer management applications may be returning to their glory days," said Rob Bois, research director at AMR Research. "Software-as-a-service is on fire, making sure that strong overall growth continues for the next several years."
