Software services exporter HCL Technologies has reported a jump in its fourth quarter net income by 44 percent on large new order and increased business. Net income for the quarter ending June 30 rose to 2.33 billion rupees compared with 1.62 billion in the year-ago period.
Consolidated revenue for the quarter stood at USD 12.54 billion rupees, an increase of 35.2 percent from last year.
HCL Technologies said it added 2,678 employees in the past quarter, boosting its staff to 32,626. "Our hiring plans are very aggressive for this year," S.L. Narayanan, chief financial officer at HCL Technologies.
The company plans to spend more than 5 billion rupees on capacity expansion over the next two years, he added.
