IBM has launched a software suite of 12 products of IBM Rational version 7.0, delivered through the IBM Software Development Platform to help automate software development process.
The twelve new version 7 products include IBM Rational Build Forge, IBM Rational ClearQuest, IBM Rational ClearCase, IBM Rational ClearQuest and Functional Testing, IBM Rational Portfolio Manager, IBM Rational Purify Plus, IBM Rational Requisite Pro, IBM Rational Robot, IBM Rational Rose, IBM Rational Rose Real-Time, IBM Rational Team Unifying Platform, and IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager.
"Our mission is to give automated tools to organisations for system process and software development. The version 7 is much more sophisticated in software delivery management and it provides flexible and integrated test management system across the distributed team," said Steve Robinson, vice-president, IBM (worldwide) sales, Rational Software, software group.
IBM sees India as a major buyer for the newly launched products with 40 percent of the USD 61 million markets in India. According to the company, the products would add-to the rapidly growing software application development market in the country.
The company said the new products automate the software testing process, and tracking changes made to software code. Robinson said, "When software development is managed as a business process, it becomes a driver of innovation and competitive advantage. Governing the development process allows organizations to take an integrated approach to software development that aligns line-of-business, development, and operations teams to improve overall business performance."
