IBM director for enterprise speech, Brian Garr, has announced that the company is likely to release products with speaker verification feature within the next 12 months.
IBM said its SpeechConcept will integrate WebSphere Voice Server (WVS) into its telephony products, allowing callers to react or respond to a query or command by speaking naturally, rather then using formatted sentences or menu commands.

DTMS Solutions, which develops and hosts speech applications for customer service call centers, and IBM will market IBM WebSphere Voice Server speech recognition products to enterprises.
According to Opus Research speech-related software is a potential lucrative market. The firm said enterprise will spend USD 2.6 million by 2009 on the related software and hardware, a jump from USD 1.2 billion in 2006.
