SmarTone-Vodafone to Use Intervoice Media Exchange
The Asia-Pacific region has emerged as the largest cellular market in the world because of strong subscriber growth in greater China, Thailand, India and Indonesia, analysts at the Yankee Group said. Intervoice has announced that SmarTone-Vodafone, Hong Kong's provider of mobile services, will be using Intervoice Media Exchange to upgrade and expand the company’s existing Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Portal to support business growth.
Leveraging Intervoice solutions, network carriers like SmarTone-Vodafone can better address its customers’ needs, while reducing the cost of delivering service through efficient IVR options that offer better call control, intelligent routing and personalization.
Intervoice Media Exchange is an application delivery platform available in a range of configurations. The solutions platform has the ability to integrate, revenue generating, telco-grade applications like messaging onto the Media Exchange platform without increasing the footprint of the system. With a compact footprint, network operators like SmarTone-Vodafone can conserve valuable central office space.
"In order to support the growing demand for mobile services and to meet the higher expectations of customers, SmarTone-Vodafone is constantly leveraging new technological advancements and looking for ways to invest in improving our infrastructure as well as to capitalize on existing investments," said Mr. Stephen Chau, chief technology officer of SmarTone-Vodafone.
"We are excited to extend our existing relationships with SmarTone-Vodafone, a key customer within the greater China region, and our partner IVRS," said Bob Ritchey, president and CEO of Intervoice. "The work we are doing with SmarTone-Vodafone underscores our increased investment and continued interest in serving the Asian market, along with partners like IVRS."
