Yahoo is Helping Zend with PHP 6, says Andi Gutmans co-founder and vice president of technology at Israeli-based company Zend Technologies, in an interview with Stephen Shankland of c|net news. PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML.
PHP 6 is a much anticipated release and will bring with it internationalization improvements such as Unicode support, so PHP works with many more languages. Version 6 also boasts of a 'big cleanup', inclusion of an Alternate PHP Cache (APC) in the default PHP distribution, improved object-oriented functionality, and changes to extensions. All the planned changes to PHP6, are recorded in these meeting minutes from the PHP Developers meeting in Paris in late 2005. |
