BEA has released new Business Process Analysis (BPA) and Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) tools. Through a reseller relationship with ProActivity, BEA offers ProActivity Process Analysis, a tool that is designed to help business analysts and developers work together to model and implement processes, and ProActivity Process Business Activity Monitoring (P-BAM), a tool that is designed to provide business-level monitoring and alerting capabilities for business users. Together the new offerings are designed to help businesses better understand their functional and operational processes (e.g., marketing, sales, fulfillment) and help simulate and optimize those business processes.
BEA WebLogic Integration provides a Business Process Management solution for implementing, executing and managing business processes. These processes execute on the BEA WebLogic Server J2EE-application server to ensure the reliability, scalability and performance that enterprises require when executing their mission critical business processes.
ProActivity complements the BEA solution by providing support for business analysts to drive the process design and allowing business users to monitor the processes at the business level. ProActivity Process Analysis provides business analysts with the following business process analysis (BPA) capabilities:
Process discovery, validation and documentation
Dynamic visual and in depth reporting for process analysis
Auto-generation of process flow diagrams and multiple swim-lane views
Comprehensive business process simulation and optimization
Exporting the process definitions to WebLogic Integration for implementation and execution
ProActivity Process Business Activity Monitoring (P-BAM), by reading process execution data in real-time from BEA WebLogic Integration, enables business users to monitor the executing processes in real-time via dashboards and be notified proactively of business exceptions.
